July-August 2016 Prayer Letter

Dear family and friends,

Summer has rolled around once again (though it feels like winter around here), and that means a change of routine. We are no less busy during the summer break, but our schedule looks very different. We will have less regular weekly meetings but lots of one time activities such as a VBS in July for two weeks and church camp on the beach in August.

Diego and Cristina’s wedding

In May, we had special events going on every weekend. We had a lot of opportunities to visit with people and continue to encourage them in their faith. We were so grateful to have Justo’s mom visiting and helping us for the time that she did. Tricia did not fully recover from the morning sickness until the middle of June. We are so thankful that she is back on her feet (and back in the kitchen). The kids are so happy to have Mommy out of bed once again.

In June we were also busy with many church activities. Justo helped lead a yearly men’s retreat to a remote mountain village. We also got to attend the wedding of one of the pastor’s daughters. She and her fiancé have been such a blessing and testimony in the church, and we rejoice greatly in their union. They have begun attending our couples’ cell group now. Lots of Americans flew down for the wedding (including AFLC Pastor Ryan Tonneson and his wife Liz), and we were happy to connect with them during their stay here.

We were also excited to welcome our STA, Jenaya Crestik. Jenaya will be staying with us for about six months helping in our home, serving in the church in various means, and learning some Spanish along the way. Pray for her as she continues to transition to life here. She has already been a great blessing to us!

May the Lord abundantly bless each one of you that you may in turn be a blessing to others.
